Intrigued by psychology, philosophy and the collective human condition, Katharina Fengler pushes the boundaries of color and texture in her work to achieve an immediate visceral response from her audience. She freely experiments with techniques, materials and installations, enabling a multitude of interpretations and associations. Famous psychologists feature prominently in her titles. Her style is at once emotional and intellectual, alluding to both the id and ego and constantly shifting the perception of the viewer from one end of the spectrum to the other.
“I like to use intense colours in my work because I think looking at them creates a direct physical response in the viewer.”
Katharina studied philosophy in Berlin before obtaining her art degree.
