Chris Trueman is California-based painter who creates abstract works inspired by graffiti, 3D modeling, computer graphics, illusionistic space, and art historical trends. He uses a multifaceted approach to paint application, creating layers of patterns and colors that result in dynamic and high-contrast compositions. Chris earned dual BFA degrees in Painting and Digital Media from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2003, and went on to earn his MFA in 2010 from Claremont Graduate University in Southern California. He has exhibited his work in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, and internationally in Milan, Paris, Berlin, Beijing, and Brisbane.
Chris currently teaches painting and drawing at Fullerton College and Chaffey College and previously taught at Chapman University and Santa Ana College.
