Andrew Pope
Born and raised in Georgia, American painter and draughtsman Andrew Pope moved to New York City in 1993. He fell in love with the city as a child, when he learned he could get whatever he wanted, like comic books and candy, without relying on a grown-up to drive him. He currently lives there with his wife, Pia, and son, Henry and works out of his studio in Tribeca. He credits any following he has to friend Raymond Pettibon, who initially discovered him on Twitter and continues to champion his work and collaborate with him on limited edition zines.

In ARTnews, Carlo McCormick called Pope, "a draftsman of exceptional talent and remarkable obscurity...a master of existential doubt, alienation and mordant humor.”
