Alette Simmons-Jimenez is a mixed-media artist based in Miami. She was an army brat and spent much of her life living and traveling among different cultures across the United States and in the Caribbean and Europe. This instilled in her a strong interest in anthropology and how individual people relate to the larger world. Often times her work destroys the original meaning of an object in order to give it a new, and often whimsical, presence.
Alette's work resides at the US Ambassador’s home in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as part of the Art in Embassies Program.
