Wil Murray
Born: Calgary, Canada|Lives:

Berlin, Germany

Wil Murray left his native Canada to join the artist community in Berlin, where he met his wife. They returned to Alberta together, but only made it through one winter before hightailing it back to the German capital. Murray’s work combines photo-montage, sculpture and painting in unconventional assemblages that defy categorization, but loosely reference modern masters such as Frank Stella. His work is heavily influenced by music, rhythm and the transformation of materials. He is represented by Vitrine Gallery in Basel, Switzerland and has exhibited internationally.
