Why we love this piece
At first glance, Trevor Guthrie’s works appear to be black-and-white photographs. Guthrie captures a remarkable and brilliant amount of detail in his charcoal drawings.
Trevor Guthrie
Born:  Fife, Scotland|Lives:

Zürich, Switzerland

Trevor Guthrie was born in Fife, Scotland, although his family relocated to Canada when he was young. He rarely played with other children; he was content by himself, drawing on brown paper grocery bags. Guthrie’s work focuses on the moment of recognition, the confrontation between viewer and subject. He also confronts his demons in his work and exposes them to the world.
