Why we love this piece

This work comes from a series of photographs taken of some of the world’s oldest olive trees in Southern Italy. Martin painstakingly removed the surrounding background, leaving us to ponder the magnificent and complex silhouette of the tree alone. The work highlights the sculptural aspect of these trees, as each one has a unique, one-of-a-kind shape created through years of pruning.
