Marco makes his works through an innovative combination of traditional painting methods and digital means. The layers of marks here were created through both Marco’s hand and by “painting machines” that he builds. The print is an endlessly fascinating dance between the organic and the programmed.
Berlin-based Marco Reichert is an abstract painter who utilizes traditional painting methods in conjunction with experimental painting machines to create multi-layered artworks. Marco initially studied computer science at Humboldt University in Berlin and this interest in programming and technology is still present in his work. Marco went on to study painting at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee. His work has been featured in solo shows at the Kunstverein Weinheim, Germany, the Georg Kolbe Museum, Berlin and RIBOT Gallery, Milan. His work has also been featured in group exhibitions in Copenhagen, New York and Paris, among others.
